A Foodie’s Heaven ||Barcelona

IMG_9200Is there a market number one in your heart? That no matter how many times you go to it, it still excites you and makes you tingly inside! According to National Geographic and other various sources (clearly did my in depth research here), the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto is listed as the best market in the world. I have been raised in Toronto for all my life and a part of me is proud that we have achieved such a title. But after experiencing this incredible place, the other side of me asks, why? I have to admit, St. Lawrence Market offers a wide range of products and is a pretty awesome place to visit in Toronto but holding the number one title is a bit too much in my book (still love you though St. Lawrence market♥).

As you can probably tell, I absolutely love markets! For me, markets bring all your senses to a whole new level (legally, of course). While you’re in Barcelona, Mercado de La Boqueria is one of those tourist pit spots you can’t miss. Even when you look at it from across the street, you know it’s going to be huge but I didn’t know it was going to be THAT ginormous of a market. Within a few steps from the entrance, you can see and hear the market flooding with people and food. There are two huge booths of cured meat welcoming you, by then I knew I was going to love this place. As lunch time rolled by we knew finding food was out first pit stop and there were definitely more options to choose from than our mouths and stomachs could handle. I do have to admit that this place is located in a very tourist trap area but the upside, it can be easily found!! I highly highly recommend going! But instead of me blabbing on, as the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Enjoy! 😀
